Our third anniversary has already come and gone, like a week ago!
Cord is still in college and finals tend to fall right around our anniversary each year, so this one was no exception. He was gone that day at work and then school for his last presentation, but he did come home for lunch before heading to class and brought me a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a bag of York mints which he knows I love.
We had planned to spend our anniversary date in town later that week once finals were over, but when that didn't go as planned, we rescheduled for last night. We both love to go to thrift stores and look for books or odds and ends for the house, and it's been a while since we had a fun evening like that browsing, so that's what we decided to do as our "anniversary outing." We took Eden along with us and she had a fun time too (even found herself a few books and a little purse!).
It was a nice evening spending time with each other since lately life has been pretty crazy and he's been so busy we haven't seen each other as much as we'd have liked. Getting dressed up and eating out some place fancy, just the two of us, or going on a special trip to celebrate our anniversary are fun and exciting too, but I love that we can have just as much of a good time doing simple things together and enjoying every minute of it.
These three years have been a blessing for us both, and looking back it's neat to see how far we've come and how much closer we've grown through the hard times and good times we've gone through as a team.
Married life is not all happy times or easy days, but when God is the focus and Heaven is the goal, it's a life that does make the happy times even better and the easy days that much easier, because you have your best friend to share the adventure with.
Here's to many, many more adventures with my favorite friend! ✨
