DIY Freezer Meal: Spaghetti Sauce

Good morning!

Here is another great recipe for a make-ahead meal. All you’ll need to do is warm this one up and cook some spaghetti noodles in the meantime.

What you’ll need:

12 oz. tomato sauce
24 oz. tomato paste
24 oz. (or more) water
2 lbs. ground beef or turkey
6-8 cloves garlic, pressed
3/4 c. chopped fresh parsley (I used dried, and this amount seemed like a lot for that. About 1/3 cup will do the trick.)
3/4 c. chopped fresh basil (Again, I used dried, so about 1/3 cup would probably do just fine.)
6 T. oregano
3 T. sugar
4 small cans mushrooms (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste

Brown meat and add garlic, basil, parsley, and oregano. Next, add tomatoes, water, sugar, mushrooms, salt, and pepper. Cover and let simmer for 2+ hours. Freeze flat. Makes about 5 quart-sized bags.
