We studied James 1 last night in a ladies’ Bible study, and verses 2-4 really stuck out to me:
“Count it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
We may not necessarily be happy when we’re facing trials/temptations, but we should be joyful, because if we’re not being challenged, we’re not growing. But when we’re tested, it helps us to grow.
1 Peter 1:6-7 says, “In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the genuineness of your faith, being more precious than gold which perishes, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
We should be thankful for the tough challenges as much as we are grateful for our blessings!
Have a blessed day!
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10)
