Tasty Tuesday: Perfect Brownies


What better way to begin the weekly Tuesday cooking posts than with a brownies recipe, don’t you think? You just simply can’t go wrong with chocolate! One of my favorite desserts to make is brownies, so I decided to share this one first off.

What you’ll need:
•2  1-ounce squares unsweetened chocolate (equivalent to 6 tablespoons cocoa and 2 tablespoons oil or butter)
•1/2 cup butter
•1 cup sugar
•2 eggs
•1 tablespoon vanilla
•1/2 cup plain flour
•1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Mix cocoa/oil mixture with butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add flour (and nuts, if desired) and mix well. Pour into non-greased 8x8x2-inch baking pan and bake for about 35 minutes, or until you can pull a toothpick out clean. Makes about 12 brownies. (Optional: sift confectioners sugar on top for looks and added sweetness.)

NOTE: Best if enjoyed with good friends and a glass of fresh milk.
