Breaking Stereotypes

We may think that because we’re young, nobody will pay any attention to what we say, do, or think, but guess what– the whole world is watching us. Everyone is watching, waiting to see who we will become. We hold the future in our hands, and someday our generation will have its turn to run the world. Each generation gets a turn, and ours is coming soon. But it starts now, so what are we gonna do about it? What kind of legacy will we leave? Will our lives blend in with the world or mend the world? Today and our future– will we make it or break it?

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans 12:2)

“For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps.” (1 Peter 2:21)

“How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word.” (Psalm 119:9)

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)

“Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” (1 Corinthians 16:13-14)

We can be different. We can say no to the wrong and stand for the right. Just because we’re young and the world expects us to be wild and ignorant does NOT mean we have to be. We can break these sorry stereotypes and become something much better than the world anticipates.

“Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.” (1 Timothy 4:12)

Have a blessed day!

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10)
